It was October 23rd 2019 - during ANASTASIA'S last trip to Greece - when she came upon a horrific sight; tied on a tree in a private back yard was a small bundle of misery. Sick, malnourished, open wounds all over his small body and a collar imbedded into the skin of his neck. Anastasia knew that she was going to save this precious life no matter what and without a second thought, without considering the consequences, or her own safety, she jumped the fence- risking her life in the process - grabbed him, got him into her car and drove straight to our vet... His luck had just taken a turn for the best. Once the vet finished giving him first aid and a load of exams, from blood tests to ultrasounds to skin samples, Anastasia brought him to our sanctuary, where the arduous process of recovery begun. And we named him … "TRUFFAS"! Meanwhile here in Canada, all the way across the ocean, someone had spotted on our page the posting of his rescue and fell in love with him, hook line and sinker! "TRUFFAS" had a second stroke of luck and was adopted only days after his amazing rescue. It took months and months for him to overcome his serious illnesses; bucketfuls of pills, antibiotics, painkillers, vitamins, repetitive blood tests, bottles of special shampoos and conditioners, tonics and highly nutrient foods, tons of love, attention and care. And our resilient trooper our precious fighter boy "TRUFFAS" thankfully made it through without any permanent damage. All this time he showed SPFG team- and his new mom who is following his progress lovingly and waiting ever so patiently - what an incredibly tender and wonderful character he has. "TRUFFAS" is now cleared by the vet for travel and even though circumstances are difficult due to Corona virus, SPFG is doing our best to arrange his transportation accommodations for him to make it to his forever home and his adoring mom. Way to go "TRUFFAS" ... way to go!
TRUFFAS is about 5 years old, a kokoni mix and weights 15 kg.
